Visitors to MERLOT can now find open textbooks using the Open Textbook category under Advanced Search > Material Type.   See open textbooks listed at MERLOT.  MERLOT members are encouraged to provide evaluation and commentary on the listed open textbooks.  For details, visit MERLOT Innovations.

Google Book Search Help Center

How can I find books that I can download?

  1. Visit books.google.com
  2. Click on Advanced Search
  3. Search for downloadable books by clicking on the “Full view books” radio button before entering your search terms.
  4. Once you select a book from your results, you’ll see a “Download” button on the right side of the page if the book is out of copyright.
  5. Click the button to download a PDF of the book to your computer.
  6. Once the book is downloaded, you can print it and read it at your own pace.

Why is the Download button only available on some books?

What can I do with the PDFs I download?
